july 30th update...
the good and the bad... such is the path of Rescue...

Two-Two is in a lovely home, on a trial. We love the woman, who once had a 2-legged dog, and who has the smarts to care for his needs... it's a great home.

The sad news is this: we did blood work on him last week... his kidney values are high. It's just SO difficult to know what this means... the vet's suggestion was to retest the blood later....
Many of you know that elevated kidney values in a dog or cat usually means kidney disease. We've all seen this in older animals...... there is no cure, only management. To see this in a puppy as young as TwoTwo could be very serious..... indicaating "failure to thrive".... and that he will not live long.

We just do not know yet.... his foster mom is making dietary changes... TwoTwo loves life... he plays, cuddles, kisses... he does NOT act like a sick puppy at all. We hope he stays vibrant for a very long time.

Two-Two is a pretty special little fella... he was born without front legs. TwoTwo is 8 weeks of age right now.... he moves around easily. He is a gentle, sweet soul who is a real doll! TwoTwo will need some creative solutions... i.e. a front-wheel cart for his mobility. He moves around easily now, but I can imagine that his front 'legs' can suffer abrasions from moving about... and that will cause infection.

Will he learn to walk on two legs? Who can say... at THIS moment he is just a precious little doll... two pounds or less. We are seeking a STELLAR home for this doll!
