About a month ago Wonderdog got a call from the Los Banos shelter asking us to take on a 5-6 week old puppy. When we got her it appeared that we indeed had a 3 week old pup! I (happily) volunteered to foster the little lump.

When we first got her she looked like a mix between a panda cub and a guinea pig. She would happily lap up her puppy "gruel" from a bowl. The first day we weighed her in at about 2.5 pounds she has since steadily grown about 1 pound a week. A few days after we got her (and were waking up at 3AM to feed her) my boyfriend decided that he could not ever live with out her, and thus she became our failed foster.

Now she is 7 weeks, and a little over 7 pounds. She's a cannon ball of energy bouncing around the apartment, splashing in water bowls, beating up our two cats, and getting into just about everything!

Lakshmi is growing to be such a beautiful fuzz ball, and she's super smart too. She's learned sit by verbal command only at 6 weeks. Come, sit, and stay by 7, and knows down and give paw as well. We're going to have to start this smarty on agility classes when she gets older!
