3/25 UPDATE: OMG!! These puppies are adorable... they are so big and silly... happy, bouncing little pups who just love life. They have been so well socialized by their foster mom and subsequent foster homes. They will turn 2 weeks of age this week, and can be adopted out at our mobiles on March 20 and 21!

3/2 UPDATE: Here are some updated photos of the babies, who are now six weeks of age! Check back to see if they are making a special appearance at our mobile adoption this weekend! We don't know who the dad is/are... but these look like pretty big pups for six weeks! THEY will be at our Saturday mobile, March 6... they are not available for adoption until the middle of March though.

UPDATE: Kiki is being adopted by her foster mom.... Look for new photos of the puppies within the next few days... :-) They will be available for adoption on March 19th. You'll need to submit an application to adopt... the pups will have had two vaccinations and have been wormed too.

Kiki gave birth to these beautiful puppies January 22nd in the Merced shelter. Wonder Dog took them in the next day, rescuing them from euthanasia. Mom, very pregnant at the time, was a cruelty confiscation, and is heart-wrenchingly thin.

we will work with you on what supplies you'll need to foster these little darlings, and Wonder Dog Rescue will supply you with any needed food, supplies, and medical attention for the pups/mom. what a great experience for someone to take part in - if you are thinking of adopting a puppy, here is a chance to foster the little one and its family before your pup is 8 weeks old and ready for adoption.

what is needed:
* warm, quiet area for puppies to grow
* contained area (puppy pens work great for this, we will supply if needed)
* contained area should not have carpet - hardwood, tile, vinyl, usually kitchen floor is great
* no cats - no other dogs - mom is protective of her babies with other animals, but is totally sweet and accepting of people
* puppy pads or newspaper
* puppy food - canned and moistened dry
* blankets/towels for pups to sleep in
* toys for emerging puppy teeth and mom
* lots of love, hugs, and puppy tickles from you (Kiki LOVES to snuggle too!)
