Wonder Dog’s current lifesaving mission is a synthesis of 30 years of rescue work, starting with a Boston Terrier rescue in San Francisco. As the organization grew, so also did our ability to help other dogs in need. Today, we rescue all types of small dogs, from 6 weeks to 16 years! All of our dogs live in a home environment while awaiting adoption. There they receive medical care and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
In January 2020 we established a sanctuary in Sonoma county, allowing us to concentrate more closely on their quality of life and well being. We also adopted some companion farm animals who grace us with their antics and love!
Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of animals through direct action. We achieve this through the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and puppies who come into our program. We also strive to help the most underserved, the aged, those with severe medical needs and those who have suffered trauma. We provide compassionate hospice care to dogs at the end of their lives.
Searching for the perfect furry friend? We rescue all breeds of dogs. Browse our adoptable dogs and see who will be ready for adoption soon!
Fostering is probably the most important of all jobs. When you open your home to fostering a pup, adult dog, or a litter we get to save lives! We can not do it without you.
Are you ready to join an amazing group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs in need? We'd love to have you on our team!
