Wonder Dog Rescue will consider adoptive families in California only depending on spay/neuter status. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We adopt dogs to homes in the Northern California Bay Area. Very few exceptions are made, and we never ship dogs. We receive many outstanding applications from people in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and Southern California. The issue with long-distance placements is this: we have no reliable way of getting the dog back to us if the adoption falls through. For this reason, we must refer these applicants to rescues in their respective areas.

We appreciate you wanting to bring a dog into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.
We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity.
Once your application review is complete, a Wonder Dog Rescue staff member will contact you to schedule a meet and greet visit to meet in person and discuss all-things pet related. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets.
