I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Bird

We're happy to tell you that Bird has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Her name is Bird, she's about 8 years old and is a Boston terrier/Frenchie mix. She's about 12-15 lbs. She’s fun, loving, and cuddly. She loves to play fetch with her frisbee at the dog park, she loves water and cuddling on the couch. She does ok on walks, but will sometimes pull or jump at people, bicycles, or other dogs. She will come when you call her name about 70% of the time and she responds very well to treats! She also knows a few commands like sit and stay, and she responds well to these commands. When we have people over she jumps and nips at their feet. She barks and jumps every time someone comes to the door. She has never bit her or anyone hard or actually hurt anyone or another dog. She doesn’t do well with other female dogs. She has epilepsy so she takes medicine for her seizures and she’s managing it very well. 6/20/22 UPDATE FROM FOSTER: Hi, my name is Bird and I celebrated my 8th birthday on the very same day I made it to my new foster home! I am a smart cookie and learned how to use the doggy door to take care of my bathroom needs. I’m good with a chill walk around the block and look forward to protecting your house from all the pesky cats that come around. When the humans come home, I like to greet them with my full booty wag and sometimes get a little too excited and nip playfully at their heels. I know how to sit and stay and my foster has been successful in redirecting my excitement in this way. The docs say I have this thing called epilepsy and a thyroid thing going on, but it sure doesn’t stop me from playing with my Boston foster doggies and living life to the fullest! I know that my medical stuff might sound a little scary, but it’s managed well with the meds that I take 2 x a day rolled up in some bread. These meds give me the munchies and make me thirsty so I’ll need some yummy veggies and fruits in between meals to go with plenty of water to drink (thanks in advance!). When I get too worked up, I like to stick my face and paws in my water so I can cool down or I go into my kennel for a break (this is where I hide all the toys too..hehe). I’m all in for the pets and scratches but also content hanging out on my own. I am cute, sweet, and a little sassy. Looking forward to making new memories in my forever home!
