From Shelter to Rescue to Home 415.505.0897

I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Costanza

I'm Available

Costanza is incredibly sweet and so special! We saw her at a shelter, with a claim that she had been hit by a car. They shaved her head to look for injuries. When her stray hold ended she came to Wonder Dog Rescue. She wasn't eating, despite her foster's best efforts. We got her in to Mission Pet and Dave noticed she had trouble with her tongue. He told us to give her kibble, which would be easier for her to eat. This worked like a charm. This was a sign of something neurological. We did not know whether she'd always had this problem, or if it was the result of a head unjury from the car. If it had just occurred we hoped to see the inflammation and problem diminish. Within a few days it DID, but then she began having short seizures. We made the decision to put her on keppra, and the seizures stopped immediately. She is now playful, active, eating and drinking well and gaining weight. I don't know yet what the future holds, vis a vis a possible or temporary seizure disorder. She is available to an experienced family, with all of the knowledge and support that comes from a community who loves her very much! Until her seizures are regulated/cleared, she will not be spayed, and would remain a foster.
